Last week, Audrey Williams and I traveled to Nashville, TN to participate in a Brightspace Ignite regional conference. We presented a session titled Version Control for Course Content in which we discussed a few ways of using GitHub and PenFlip to make updating materials within a D2L course easier to modify, update, and share.
Here’s the official description from the event website:
Version control systems allow you to properly store, retrieve, and merge different versions of your content documents without needing to maintain separate file folders or master courses. In this session, participants will learn how to use GitHub™ with D2L Learning Environment to make content revisions painless. Attendees will also discuss ways of using Github™ to share resources and facilitate collaboration using a free Github™ account.
We made some last-minute changes to the presentation and plan on making some more changes based on discussions with a few of our awesome session participants. You can download the current version of the presentation here, but we’ll be posting an updated version along with a detailed tutorial to the ETS blog in the next week or two.
Thanks to everyone who attended our presentation – especially Nicole for the Twitter shout out 🙂
